If you use Mac OS 8.1 through 8.2.2, Mac OS X's Classic environment, or Mac OS X 10.1.2 through 10.1.5, you will need to download Kerberos for Macintosh 4.0.3 before proceeding to the next step.
The Kerberos GUI comes with Mac OS X versions 10.2 and later. To run the Kerberos GUI, open a Finder window and navigate to the System -> Library -> CoreServices folder. Within that folder you will find an application named Kerberos. Start this application and you will be presented with the following:
To create a Kerberos ticket, click the New icon in the toolbar. You will be presented with an Authenticate to Kerberos window. Enter your IMSS username, and AD.CALTECH.EDU into the Realm field.
Enter your password then click OK.
You will now be back at the main Kerberos window, only now you will see your active Kerberos ticket.
Finally, open the preferences for Kerberos through the menus, and click the Default Ticket Options tab. We recommend you change the Lifetime option to 10 minutes. You may have to click Always default to these ticket options to be able to modify this value/slider bar.
Once satisfied with your options, click OK.
You can now proceed with the step to connect a network drive.
